Mechanism of Action:Inhibits the enzyme DPP-4, which increases the levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), leading to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon secretion
Use:
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Side Effects:
  • Upper respiratory tract infection
  • Headache
  • Hypoglycemia (when used with other antidiabetic medications)

  • Hypersensitivity to alogliptin
