Mechanism of Action:
  • Inhibits viral replication by interfering with the uncoating of the virus
  • Increases dopamine release and blocks its reuptake in the brain
Use:
  • Prevention and treatment of influenza A virus
  • Treatment of Parkinson's disease and drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms
Side Effects:
  • Nausea, vomiting, and anorexia
  • Dizziness, headache, and confusion
  • Insomnia and nervousness
  • Peripheral edema and livedo reticularis
