Mechanism of Action:
  • Binds to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis and causing bacterial cell death
Use:
  • Treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae
  • Used in combination with other antibiotics for the treatment of tuberculosis
