Use:
  • Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis
  • Relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis
  • Management of acute pain
  • Reduction of colorectal polyps in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis
Side Effects:
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Gastrointestinal upset (nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea)
  • Edema
  • Hypertension
  • Increased risk of cardiovascular events
Contraindications:
  • Hypersensitivity to celecoxib or other NSAIDs
  • History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • Active gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Severe hepatic impairment
