Use:
  • Treatment and prevention of gout flares
  • Treatment of familial Mediterranean fever
Side Effects:
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Myelosuppression
  • Myopathy
  • Peripheral neuropathy
Contraindications:
  • Hypersensitivity to colchicine
  • Severe renal or hepatic impairment
  • Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or P-gp inhibitors
