Use:
  • Treatment of bacterial infections such as acne, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections
  • Prophylaxis for malaria and anthrax
Side Effects:
  • Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • Photosensitivity
  • Tooth discoloration (in children under 8 years old)
  • Esophageal irritation if taken without enough water
