Mechanism of Action:
  • Binds to mineralocorticoid receptors in the kidney, promoting sodium and water retention and potassium excretion
  • Also has some glucocorticoid activity
Use:
  • Treatment of primary and secondary adrenal insufficiency
  • Treatment of salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome
  • Treatment of orthostatic hypotension

  • Increased appetite
