Mechanism of Action:
Simethicone reduces surface tension of gas bubbles, allowing them to combine and be expelled more easily
Use:
Relief of colic, griping pain, and wind in infants
Can be given from birth onwards
Side Effects:
Rarely, mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea or constipation
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to simethicone or any of the excipients
