Mechanism of Action:
  • Binds to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain, which inhibits neurotransmitter release and reduces seizure activity
Use:
  • Treatment of partial-onset seizures
  • Adjunctive therapy for myoclonic seizures in patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy
  • Adjunctive therapy for primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures
