Mechanism of Action:
  • Stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the lungs, resulting in relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle and bronchodilation
  • Inhibits the release of bronchoconstricting agents such as histamine and leukotrienes
Use:
  • Relief of bronchospasm in asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema
  • Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm
  • Treatment of preterm labor
